Solar concept is an interactive light and smartphone app that synchronize with a user-specified timezone to mirror the sun’s natural light cycle over a twenty-four hour period, designed by Jon Liow. User can either allow the app to automatically sync with the light to trigger a 24 hour cycle based on their current location, or manually select any city in the world. Once the light is triggered by the app via Bluetooth, it runs independently without needing to be connected to the smartphone. By manually reversing the light function, you can have a shining brightest during the timezone's darkest hours and vice versa. The light measures 500mm circular and 30mm deep. A brushed aluminium frame houses the LEDs and electrical componentry, with a white/opaque acrylic face covering the internals and providing an evenly distributed glow.
