Designers Alessandra Mantovani and Eleonora Barbareschi designed this unusual stool for Italian company Riva1920. This dubbed Mondana Bag, in the form of a handbag comes complete with straps. Made of of solid cedar wood, the seat is naturally finished and outfitted with leather and what looks like brass hardware. The monolith wood block is curved into sinuous bends following the typical shape of a leather bag, beside two lather handles apply through metal studs complete the wood bag. The design is playful in reference but simple in material, balancing conceptualism with versatility. 'Visually removed from its natural context and combines together with an unusual element such as wood, it’s intended as a homage to Pop Art and represents a nowadays icon.'
