The rlon L3 - a playful lighting object

The Rlon design concept studio in Berlin has come up with a playful alternative to the traditional on/off switches we use everyday.

The rlon L3 is a light controlled by playin with its metallic ball. All it consists of is a light ring, a wooden platform, a metallic sphere and a dimmer switch hidden from the sight. The rlon L3 works by triggering the light using the magnetic fields on its surface.

The metallic sphere is the focus item on the piece. You can simply switch on the light by sliding the metallic sphere towards the light along the wooden platform. And the light ring will be turned off by sliding the sphere away from the ring.
