The SwatchMate Cube is a simple device that captures any live color at any surface and sends recognized color data directly to your smartphone or computer using Bluetooth. The Cube can differentiate colors at or better than the ability of the naked eye. Inside the Cube are a number of light emitters and light detectors. Information from reflected light is processed by an on-board microprocessor which then transmits wirelessly to a smart-phone or computer. Operating the cube is easy – there is one button. The same button turns on the device, pairs to a smart-phone or computer, takes a color measurement, and turns off the device. Device is also capable of storing up to 20 color samples without any pairing needed. Project launched at Kickstarter for pre-order for $75 AUD.
