A lampshade created using recycled waste

Designed by Max Ashford , with the intention of maintaing the environmemtal sustainability, The Quercus is an environmentally friendly lighting that is elegantly designed with mere waste.

The lampshade is built using an upcycled wine bottle, cut and frosted to create a soft and comfortable glow. The curved stand is constructed of local reclaimed oak shaped through the steam bending process.

The wood is reclaimed off-cuts of seasoned white oak sourced locally, that would have otherwise been burnt or sold as firewood. An LED bulb provides illumination that both focus on the task at hand whilst also filling the surrounding environment.

Quercus not only portrays an effective method of recycling but also provides an extended life use. Available for backing on Kickstarter.
