Apparently, JailbreakMe 2.0 is the latest userland based jailbreaking tool that has the ability to jailbreak all iOS devices having the latest iOS 4.0/4.0.1 firmware. It has been verified that this jailbreak is only meant for all iOS device which includes the iPad and the iPhone 4 that runs with the iOS 4.0 and 4.0.1. Sad to say it will not work on iOS devices running the iOS 4.1 beta version.

The JailbreakMe 2.0 being a userland based jailbreaking tool is so simple to use. All you need to do is just simply connect your device to Wi-Fi and open http://www.jailbreakme.com/ and start “jailbreaking” your device.

First, you must make sure that you have an original supported SIM which will be used to activate your phone with iTunes. If you have already an original supported SIM then you may proceed with the following easy to follow step by step procedure:

2. Update your smartphone with the latest iOS 4.01 firmware and iTunes

8. Once finished you will see the message “Cydia has been added to your screen”
